System distance too wide
Can't remember what I did to fix this last time. Been a while. It was fine til I started adding notes & then it got ridiculous..please keep in mind I don't want the staves Any smaller, I jsut want to knock down that giant space between each system.

adjustment works good. Don't I want to keep it in letter format for printing/ making pdf??

If you are in a country that uses Letter size often (eg, the US), then indeed, keep it Letter. Otherwise, make it A4
The page fill threshold mentioned above explains why your systems stretched out. When the page gets more full than what is specified by this parameter, MuseScore automatically stretches the systems out to fill the page. If you don't want that to happen, you need to ocnrease the threshold, so the stretch only kicks in once the page is really almost full.
