Cut common time anacrusis bar
I'm arranging Milton Ager's 'Ain't She Sweet' for SATB saxophone quartet. The sop sax has a three quaver anacrusis bar lead in. It's in cut common time so how do I set the bar properties for the anacrusis bar please? It won't let me set 1½ / 2.

Of course not. Use 3/4 instead as the actual duration for that measure

Thank you for your swift reply, but I'm afraid I don't understand your advice. Could you please explain in a bit more detail how I notate this anacrusis using the bar properties function. Thanks for your patience.

No wonder, my advice was plain wrong ;-)
I once again stumbled across the British expession "quaver" and took it for "quarter" rather than "eighth"...
It should have been: use 3/8 for the pickup measure

But if I put a 3/8 time signature in there I lose the cut common time signature. Or do you mean to leave the pick up bar notated as 3/8 and then put cut commontime signature in the next bar? That would be horrible!

Nononoi! In the new score wizard select cut time sig, then check the box for anacrusis and there enter 3/8

How did you do that?
