Save as to older version
Please add a function for Musescore 3 to Save As a Musescore 2 file? My Mac is 10.11.6 and does not accommodate 10.12 OS therefore I cannot install Musescore 3.

Scores exported as xml can be opened from previous versions.

xml - called musicxml starting about version 2.2.
