down and up bow for strings

for a score (imperial march) there are a lot of down and up bows which makes the sound unique in an orchestra but midi cannot make those sounds. is there any workaround to it?

Maybe, there is some soundfont file with the different sound you want to use.

Of course, if it exists, you will have to look for (inside that soundfont) which sound is bow up and wish is bow down, and select it in the notes you want to hear it (note by note).

BTW: You can use the visual sign of bow up/down, BUT... it won't change the sound. To change the sound you have to use the "Change Instrument" option into the "Text" palette. See the handbook to more info about this.
