Select it, open Inspector.
Or: Format/Style->Text style->dialog window on the right...

Thanks but I was hoping I could just highlight all the text quickly to change the size rather than highlight each text individually

So: Format/Styles->Text style;
Select lyrics in the central column, in the right one set the Font size.

I have lyrics odd lines and lyrics even lines, which one?

So I don't understand where your problem is then. selecting one syllable, changing the size in Inspector and then using the S button next to the size setting affects all other lyrics syllables

It did it with that small selection but would not do it with the full score.

Ah, strange. Anyhow: rightclick one, select all similar then use the reset button for size in Inspector

Thanks, I knew that but did not want to spend a long time selecting all the text to change size. I was hoping there was a way I could do it globally.

You can, by following the instructions above. Right-click, Select / All Similar Elements does just what is says, it selects all similar elements for you, no need for you to do so one by one. Do that, then hit the reset button as directed (you must have had some custom formatting applied that was getting in the way). Then everything will be at style defaults.
