In the attached file (created in version 2), the Cresc. line has no continue text. (This was removed by using the line properties menu)
Import the file into version 3.
Continue text unexpectedly appears.
A similar result occurs if the line has no begin text.
The workaround is to remove the text by using the inspector.

works for me, MuseScore 3.0.5
The line is imported, but for me, I do see the continue text, and this was indeed not present in 2.3.2. We're picking up the new default when we should special case this in read206(), I think. I thought I remember this coming up before but I don't see an issue for it.

Ah, I see, the contuation text got added by the import into MuseScore 3, not lost in transit. Seems I didn't read properly...
This issue is still present in version 3.4.2
