Quarter note triplet problem
I've got a measure in 4 with 2 sets of quarter note triplets. I'm getting an additional quarter note (1 beat) in the measure, and I can't delete it. Is there something wrong with my knowledge of triplets (3 quarter note triplets = 2 beats), or what is going on? Am I missing something obvious?

What we're seeing is wrong. Attach your score, it's the only way to know for sure what's happening.

I'm not sure how I did it wrong (I messed around with a few things to try to correct it, like moving the triplet bracket), but I got it right later in the score, so I went back and deleted that section and used the technique I mentioned. It's fine now. Thanks for offering.
I see. I have to choose a half note before I apply the triplet because it's taking two beats.
