Editing a soundfont file
Is it possible to edit soundfont files? I would like to replace the nylon guitar in MS 2.3.2's supplied soundfont with one from another soundfont.

Thanks, looks like plenty of options to try.
If I'm working with a GM soundfont do I have to keep the same instrument names when I swap out a particular instrument and still retain GM compatibility?

Yes. Otherwise MuseScore won't recognize the name of the instrument.
