I (ab)use "Portato/Louré" a lot, and would love to bind a key (e.g., "p" -- I don't need a visual piano keyboard, thank you) to it. I see no reason why more (or all) articulations (ornaments iffier) are not offered unbound (no key assigned) in this table, and would like to see them available there.

There are articulations that do have shortcuts, like staccato. No reason to not have one for e.g. portato, irrespecive of whether pallete items get made accessible via shortcuts too.

It is possible to redefine this request to make it too laborious to do. I don't want a shortcut; I only want it in the command list along with myriad things that don't have default shortcuts, so that anyone who pleases can negotiate his or her own shortcut space.

To me, it makes much more sense to make it possible for every palette item to have a shortcut - especially since much of the code has already been written - than it does to one by one add commands for every palette item that everyone ever requests a shortcut.

I think BSG makes a good point. Don't predefine more shortcuts, but make it possible for the user to define all of the shortcuts. I don't need a shortcut for a turn and really don't want to have to undefine it.

To be clear: I am not saying there short be a default hortcut for every palette item - just that there should be a way to define one. Not just for the individual palette items that individual people request, but for all of them.
