Note entry on multi staffs (for multi instruments) playing at same time
Unable to enter note value (half and whole in this case) for Alto staff above Bass staff. For ex: Viola plays back melody with cello. As seen in my attachment, I want to enter whole note chords at the 4th measure. Note input mode does not allow me to. I am stuck at start of measure.
Should I be able to enter notation where I want on the score at anytime I want? I tried writing out the bass cello line first and then adding in above onto the alto with no success. Do I have to make entries bar by bar when it comes to multi instrument score?
I didn't find any tutorials unfortunately. Let me know!

Thx Mike but no go. I tried Voice 3 and am still blocked. My cursor can not get to 4th measure. I can float over the 4th measure bass clef, but when I move above to alto my cursor disappears and his kicked back to start of measure. I'm sure it's User error and I'm missing something.

I see now. It looks like you accidentally split measure 4 by adding the barlines to the bottom staff the wrong way. You probably pressed ctrl while adding the barline though there might be a different way. The problem is also in measure 3. You can see this because of the blue - at the top right end of the measures.
Hint: enter the higher notes on the cello staff in voice 1 and lower notes in voice 2, this will make the stems automatically point the right direction.
