Concert Pitch and Parts - weird behavior

• May 8, 2019 - 02:19

My score includes parts for both concert instruments and transposing instruments, the latter being trumpet and alto & tenor saxes. With "Concert Pitch" turned off, the key signatures on the band score are all correct: concert instruments are in D, Bb instruments in E, and Eb instruments in B. However, in the Parts, the key signatures are wrong for the transposing instruments, with the Eb instruments having an Ab signature and the Bb instruments having an F# signature. When I turn on Concert Pitch, the band score is again correct, but the parts are not: Bb instruments are written in E and Eb instruments in Cb. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what; suggestions most welcome.

If only all users were reading the handbook :-)
Then again why not automatically change to concert pitch on part creation (and back after). Seems the fool proof way of doing things?
We do similar thinkg with continuous mode and printing/exporting to PDF, SVG, PNG (i.e. switch to page mode before and back to continuous after)

What counts isn't the state of the concert pitch button when you generate the parts, it's the state when you save the score. Basically, in 3.0.5, saving a score with concert pitch turned on (but turned off in the parts) is broken, and indeed fixed in 3.1. Overall 3.1 beta is proving itself quite stable and people are quite happy with it, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. Either that or just be careful not to save with concert pitch turned on while you wait for the official 3.1 release (no definitive word, but I'd assume a couple of weeks or so).
