There is an issue with Pedal Lines. Workarounds are not convenient.
Issue.png
I want to add a Pedal Line to a group of notes. If in the same measure, duration of the last note in the bottom staff is greater than the one at the same position in the upper staff, the ending hook of Pedal Line won't extend to the end of the measure, which should be fixed as a bug.

Meanwhile, there is a suggestion, that is to count the total notes in both staves first, then the ending hook of Pedal Line could be stick to the position according to the notes' position in both staves.

Normal notation puts the pedal line below the left hand, so the user is then forced to turn of auto place and move each one below the other staff.

If I am understanding correctly, you are saying the same as #15513: Pedal markings under grand staff can only be attached to notes in staff attached to and/or [118676] - that is, one way or another, there needs to be a way for pedal markings to display below the bottom staff but take the notes in the top staff into account. If so, we can close this as a duplicate. But I like the suggestion, that could indeed be an interesting way to make this happen fairly easily.

I think I have found the solution to this. Use the pedal line ending with the bar at 90°, not 45° or anything else. Apparently the 45° line ending was designed go with the extender lines that have 45° bars at each end. These 45° lines, I think, are designed to be joined together to create the notation that consists of a continuous line with inverted V's.
