When the Crescendo line(cresc._ _ _) and decrescendo line(dim._ _ _) goes to the next line....
Parentheses appear when the crescendo moves to the next line.
(cresc.)_ _ _ (dim.)_ _ _
I have never seen this notation in other scores.

Joking aside, you can change that continuation text to be whatever you want it using the inspector (F8): https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/inspector#text-line-core
