a triplet in the space of a quarter note or a triplets consistinc of 3 quarter notes, in the space of a half note?
For the former: N, 5, Ctrl+3 (Mac: ⌘+3)
For the latter: N, 6, Ctrl+3 (Mac: ⌘+3)
In general: start with selecting the total diration of the entire tuplet.
