My crescendos and dininuendos doesn't work

For the past few months I've been trying to make crescendos and diminuendos work in my piece. Somehow it seems to me both of them doesn't work. e.g.:

inserts
mp (cresc.) f
playback
mp --------- f (so like no cresc but the dynamic still keeps mp until the forte part.)

Is it just my computer or has anyone experienced this??? I am currently using MuseScore 2.0 (or other versions newer than 2.0, I don't remember, but it's definitely not 3.0)
