Mandolin tab?
I want to add tunes for mandolin and I want them in tab format. What is the best way to do that?

If you only want tabs, then when you use the new score wizard choose select instruments, then use the search box at the bottom of the list of instruments you can add and search for mandolin (I typed mand) and choose the mandolin (tablature) instrument and you will get a mandolin tab. If you want to add a staff for notes see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/create-new-score#add-staff about how to add a linked staff.

Thank you! I was looking for the same. You can also use the same Search method from the Edit > Instruments window. You can also change the drop down option at the top from Common to All Instruments then it's on the pick list.

There are often multiple ways to do things as you show with your comment. I try to give the easiest way that will answer the question asked. Most people will want a mandolin tab when they create a score, your method is great if they enter notes then change their minds. For the All Instruments list, I'm not fond of scrolling through so many instruments to find one I'm looking for. Search automatically changes to the all instruments list.
