Do you mean to simply control the tempo of your playback in your own MuseScore (in that case use the tempo control in the Play Panel, F11), or do you mean "control the tempo of the composition at the beginning and possibly other points, for anyone who plays it"? If the latter, look for the "Tempo" item in the palettes at the left-hand side of the screen, and drop in an appropriate one (quarter note if your composition is in 3/4, 4/4 , etc), and edit it to have the right metronome setting.
