Fingering
Given that I have 3.2.0 in use, only the fingering of the first line (fingering 1, 2 ...) can be circled via Format/Style/Text Style?
Not so for RH/LH guitar fingering. By design?

I'm nor sure what you mean. Adding a circular frame? You can do that for any text style, incuding the guitar fingerings, either from that dialog or from the Inspector.

You're right, I was fooled by the triple choice. And the misunderstanding stems from confusing note and fingering.
For the record: https://musescore.org/it/node/294546#comment-945800 where the circle, it seems to me, is (in the tablature) for the Voice 2 note.
