Director's Copy is way too long.
Every page on my directors copy is only 4 measures and each one is atleast twice as large as it needs to be. I saw that I could decrease stretch and tried it but didn't work and im not sure what else to do

Go to Format/Add-remove system breaks.
Indeed, most likely there are line breaks in you score you need to get rid of. If that advice doesn't help, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Another way to reduce score size is to adjust the Scaling under Format>Page Settings. For my use, I set Staff space to 1.364. (Which seems an unusual number, but it is just a couple of clicks smaller than default) The way a conductor studies a score (usually at a desk or keyboard) is not the same as the actual musicians, who need to be able to clearly see every note and marking. By the time the conductor reaches the podium, most of the music is in their head, and the page is just a reference.
