Modifying the Instrument Name with the Inspector
Would it be possible to change the format of the instrument names via the inspector? In analogy to other text objects, it would make sense if this text element could be modified using the Inspector. In general, it is best to be able to modify all text objects via the Inspector, since the Inspector is directly accessible, while the text styles are somewhat hidden since version 3.

??? You can change the format using the Inspector. If you mean actually change the behavior rather than just the format, then yes, this is on the short list of things that still require a right-click for, but since you mention text styles, I'm guessing you do really mean format. And far from being hidden, text styles in MuseScore 3 are more directly accessible than ever, right there via the reset or set as style buttons in the Inspector.

If you click on a text object, e.g. the title, then this text object can be changed via the inspector. By format I mean all possible parameters that can be changed on the text (bold, italic, size, font etc.). Maybe this was not precise in English.
If you click on the instrument name, nothing appears in the inspector.
Of course, text styles are easily accessible via the Inspector, I didn't say otherwise. On the contrary, I just wished that every text object should be manipulable via the Inspector. But the menu item Text Styles is more hidden than in MS 2. And this is my pilgrimage if I want to adjust the style of the instrument name text, or am I wrong?

Ah, sorry, I thought you mean instrument change elements. The staff names are not real elements, they are generated on demand every time the layout changes, so there's no way to set properties on them individually. but you can certainly use Format / Style / Text Styles to set the overall text style. By my count it's exactly one more click for this particular text style than in MuseScore 2, but several clicks less for regular text elements, and in both cases, with the advantage of live update.
What we could do is allow the right-click menu to access the appropriate text style, this would cut down the clicks. I think there may an outstanding PR for this.

That would be really great! Of course you don't change the text style of the instrument names so often and you can also load styles, but using the right click menu would just be faster if you want to adjust something additionally.
"The staff names are not real elements" is probably also the reason why you won't be able to edit the instrument name text with a double click anymore, right?

Correct. We had tried to add support for this back in 2.x, trying to keep track of where you had customzied the names and do something reasonable if the layout changed and those names didn't exist in those places any more (because the systems broke in different places), but it led to some real nasty crashes, plus the results on layout changes were only occasionally what one might expect.
