note symbol for spoken voice
How do I show an "x" with a note value, instead of a regular note symbol, to indicate a singer has to speak the lyrics, according to the note value?

The inspector is not a pallete. It's location differs depending on if you are using Musescore 3 or Musescore 4.
If you are using MuseScore 3, it is automatically placed on the right side of the screen, but can be moved elsewhere. If you cannot find it, try opening the view tab at the top of the screen. If the box next to inspector is unchecked, check it and you should see the inspector pop up. if it is checked, you probably dragged the inspector window offscreen at some point, in which case I don't know how to help you.
If you are using MuseScore 4, the inspector has been renamed 'properties.' If you look at the top of the pallete window, you will notice a few tabs. Click on the one that says properties. Like in Musescore 3, this can be moved and closed, so you may find it elsewhere or you may need to go to view -> properties to make it reappear.
