Make Musescore ignore my midi keyboard?

Musescore automatically detects my midi keyboard and essentially hogs it when i'm trying to use the keyboard to play other software while writing in Musescore. I can't fine a way to make Musescore "let go" of the keyboard.

In the midi input drop down menu there's no "none" option, only the midi keyboard is selectable. Unchecking "Enable midi input" doesn't work either, it just stops the key presses from being detected.

Anyone know a way to do this?
