file crashes on opening
is this file corrupted in some way?
is it fixable?

Which version of MuseScore do you use? This file opens correctly for me in 3.3.3 version but crashes in 3.2.3.

i'm having issues updating so that is probably the issue
There's no crash here.
But you can try:
Delete all parts, then re-create.
Probably a corruption in one of the parts.
I'm adding the parts deleted version, thinking that you can't open the file because of the crash. Maybe it'll help.

Indeed, your attachment (with parts deleted) does not crash MuseScore 3.2.3 whereas OP's file crashes.

I see no corruption nor crashes in 3.3.3
