Comments
Confirmed, this is a critical regression.
This works as expected in edit mode (after double-click) so this is not a regression.
Anyway, here is a possible solution: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/5625.
Fixed in branch master, commit f75b94de38
fix #299883: allow using Ctrl+arrow on grips in normal mode
Thanks for the fix, but now I’m confused - are there other differences we should expect between normal and edit mode? That is, things we might expect to work because we see handles, but don’t because we aren’t actually in edit mode?

I thought the same thing, but I didn't write it because I didn't want to open an unnecessary discussion.
You asked very well. I was wondering too.
