Single Note Dynamics on Ver 3.3.4
Not clear on how to get it to work. I have 2 soundfonts in my synthesizer: Symphonic Sounds and MuseScore_General.sf3 in that order. That okay?
Dynamics - default
CC - CC2
"to expressive"
I did do a search and made an inquiry, but I don't think it was clear.

No idea if "Symphonic Sounds" supports SND, but MuseScore_General certaily does, no special settings necessary. So just make sure you use the sounds from that soundfont (the "Expr" ones, which are normally used by default) for any instruments you want to play SND.
If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score.

Yes. I have gone through it again. I set to "CC events only" and to "CC11", then set advanced to "non-expressive".
I also added velocity change in inspector.
On the example provided, see the timpani roll in mm 13-14...no crescendo-decrescendo evident.

Non-expressive is exactly why that won't work - you need the default, expressive, and also the defaults for the other settings (eg, unless you have a specific soundfont that requires CC events only, or CC11, leave those at the defaults).
That said, I don't think timpani supports SND (in real life or in MuseScore). Tremolo is sort of a special case, and I think that isn't handled currently.

Thank you. I used "non-expressive" as per the instructions on the page. (see Shoichi's link), but I'll try the other, too. At this point I have no idea if my font supports SND, but I could ask the MS user who developed it.
If not, I could use invisible voices for timpani rolls. A bother, but it often works.
Thanks.

Those instructions were specifically for using CC11 if your particular soundfont supports / requires it. The default soundfont does not, and the instructions do cover that too.

CC02 (with expressive) for musescore's soundfont,
CC11 (and non expressive+constant velocity) for other soundfonts,
but not together.

Yes. Thank you.
