selecting parts to export
I am using linked parts. How can I designate some parts to export as MP3, while designating other parts to export as PDF?

There is no single interface for that sort of thing, seems pretty specialized. So, either export all as MP3 then all as PDF and delete what you didn't need, or go the parts individually and export them in the format(s) you need.
Although I say it seems like a pretty specialized use case, I could imagine it being common enough to at least warrant someone writing a plugin. We have a batch export already, could be interesting to adapt it to deal with parts.
