updating version 2.0.1 on Ubuntu
Is there a way to update the Musescore version 2.0.1 on a Ubuntu OS? I get messages of incapability.
I don't have the update option on my preferences either.

That is 'just' an AppImage (and is using those you can as wll use 3.4.2), 3.2.3 is available in the PPA
2.0.1 is pretty ancient indeed. Did you try using the normal means of updating software in Ubuntu? Pretty sure they have something much more recent in their normal repositories. But downlaoding the AppImage should work. Looks like maybe you tried to install it from a link on an FAQ page, not really sure when that is, but it should work fine to download it using the link you get if you click Download / Software in the menu above.
