I use MuseScore 3.4.2 Portable AppImage, with Ubuntu Studio 19.10 (64 bits Linux).
If you, please, look at the file... I wonder... Which one is more used, in "normal" life?
a) 12/8 with duplets? ???
or...
b) 4/4 with triplets? ???
Just a doubt...

Depends on what else is going on.
For me, the second section in 4/4 seems easier to read.
Try this:
Enable metronome (with count-in). Turn the metronome volume up to hear it clearly.
Solo one staff in the Mixer and listen to playback.
Next, solo the other staff and listen.
Compare triplets over 4 to duplets over 12 with metronome enabled.
(I prefer 4/4)
