Is there a way to change the time signature and the note durations in a finished song?
I finished notating a song and realized it would make better sense if all the 8th notes were quarter notes, quarter notes were half notes, etc. So all the measures would have to be split in half. I can split measures one at a time but can't fix the note durations. I want to be able to select the whole song and tell it to double all the note durations and change the bar lines accordingly.

That's amazing! Thank you so much! I searched for a while, but I can never think of the right search terms....

I recommend this to every new (or "new-ish" :-) user I communicate with. Take an hour or two and simply read the entire MuseScore 4 Handbook. Don't try to memorize it! Just skim through it and familiarize yourself with the contents! But read it all!!! Then you'll have an idea where to find things when issues come up in the future. "Didn't I see something about that in the Handbook?"
But if you can't find it in the Handbook and can't think what to search for ... that's what we're here for :-)
Welcome aboard and best of luck!!!

Honestly, have you done it yourself?

Yes, twice for version 4. I do it about every 15-18 months. It's been about 6 months, but my recollection is that it took me just over 60 minutes the last time.

No, I mean when you yourself discovered Musescore (I don't know, maybe Version 3). Have you read the entire Version 3 handbook before entering your first score?

Whether or not is not really relevant to make the strong recommendation to do so ;-)
On the contrary, actually.

I started sometime in the lifespan of version 2.
No, not before entering my first score. But shortly thereafter (within the first week/month), yes.
And what does that have to do with the situation. I have found that if users do read the manual, they will have generally better outcomes. Whether or not I did so, doesn't change that. It's something that I learned along the way.
I've never suggested that someone read the manual before trying their first score (though it wouldn't hurt to do so). I have suggested that new users should read it. Period. Whether it's before they've created a score or after they've created a dozen doesn't matter.
