can't alter beaming
Hi,
(see attached image) I'm trying to alter the beaming in a bar and nothing I seem to do allows me to beam quavers 2+3 together, but not connected to 1 or 4. This is in a 4/4 bar (should that matter?). I'm using the note properties to change beaming but none of the options seem to do this in this case. what am I missing please?

A nice picture but not much use for anyone to see what is going in and provide help. A .mscz file allows someone to inspect the settings you are using.
But you say you are using the note properties. You should be using the beam properties as it is the beams you want to adjust. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/beams

Thanks Steve, and apologies for my inaccurate description, I see the error now. When I looked at the beams handbook page (you linked to) I can see that I was trying to break the beam on the wrong side.
