  1. In note-selection mode, place you mouse as if you're about to click to place a note

  2. Use the numbers key 1-9 to change your note type

  3. Move cursor up/down after doing so

You will notice the note following the cursor does not update to what you pressed (1-9) until you have moved your mouse, which is difficult and annoying which quickly trying to type in notes, as you cannot see on the staff what note you are currently using unless you move your mouse to update it.

There is also a side-bug you may notice which I reported in another issue where when changing note-types the note following your cursor will be clipped by the blue-outline of your currently selected note if it's touching it.

For me, the note disappears on changing the length, until I move the mouse (which ofc is still undesirable).
On your machine, is it displaying a note of the old length instead?
EDIT: It was just hidden behind the blue outline due to the other issue you mentioned:
#304424: Cursor-note clipped.
So I seem to get the same bug as you, after all.
