Are there single-note crescendos in MuseScore 2?
So, the version of MusesScore that I use is MuseScore 2. I've been using it for a long time and I find it much easier to use than MuseScore 3, but something that's bothered me is that I can't seem to make a single-note crescendo. I saw a post made by another user on June 10, 2019 where they asked a similar question, but I didn't know if they were referring to MuseScore 3 (which I assume they were), but is there the ability to do such things in MuseScore 2?

No, there isn't. Single-note dynamics was first included with the MuseScore 3.1 beta release, and there no backports of it in MuseScore 2.x

Ah, thank you. That sucks.
I am curious as to which parts of MS2 are so much more user friendly to your workflow that you're not willing to take advantage of the dozens of improvements MS3 has. There shouldn't be much of a learning curve at all. Some commands have changed menu positions and most dialog things are moved into the inspector, but other than that (for my workflow) there were hardly any changes.
Knowing why can be valuable input into the MS4 redesign work that is currently ongoing.

I guess it’s that the UI is more familiar to me and some of the soundfonts I use (I believe) aren’t compatible with MuseScore 3. I also don’t like how the Mixer works. I’m not able to understand it that well.
i don’t know how much this makes sense to you (or anyone) but that’s my reasoning on why I use MuseScore 2 instead of MuseScore 3.

I'm not aware of any soundfont incompatibilities between 2.x and 3.x

Let us know what you are struggling with in the Mixer and I'm sure we can explain it. MuseScore 3 is vastly improved in so many ways, it's a shame to deprive yourself of its much more powerful and much more efficient capabilities.

There shouldn't be soundfont incompatibilities between MS2 and MS3. What is different is that since 3.1 MuseScore supports single note dynamics (so a cresc on a long note is now in effect on instruments that are capable of it).
As for the Mixer, that is indeed one component that got a rather big redesign in MS3 vs MS2. And it is undergoing another one for MS4 to address some of the main complaints we've heard from MS3 users. The main thing to remember to be able to use it efficiently is that the top area are the details from the track you've selected in the bottom area.
Have a quick read through https://musescore.org/en/handbook/mixer won't hurt you either ;)
