Corrupted File

• Jul 22, 2020 - 05:38

I read the page about correcting errors that are found in a file but musescore will not stay open long enough for me to correct them. Even when I follow the repair directions and select the measure before the corrupted measure the program will close. I was editing this for several hours without issue. I saved it, saved it online, and then went to open it later with the issues. I was able to see bar 120 (the first error), and it looks like there's an extra half rest in it. How did that get there? I've listed to this about 10,000 times today, I would've notice something so outrageous.

How can I repair this?

Errors listed:
Measure 120, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found: 25/16
Measure 121, staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found: 22/16

In this case, it is in the main score that the marimba is first corrupted. Deleting only this part (or all parts) won't change anything. There are some unexpected orphan ties over barlines, it's an old score originally (created in 2016, and shared on musescore.com), not sure exactly what happened.
The safest solution seems to be here to simply clear (apparently that's enough to solve it) the content of the corrupted measures (as a precaution, after that: save, quit and restart the file)
When you have completed again the content of these measures, you will re-create the parts.
