Syncopation

• Jul 23, 2020 - 02:15

Okay, I know I'm probably the only person who doesn't know how to do this, but how do you syncopate notes? Like, how do you put a chord in between two beats? I'll be honest, I'm kind of a beginner so if somebody has an answer to this please explain in the simplest way possible. This is really bugging me because I don't want to have to change all my songs to make them fit into the score on musescore.

It isn't totally clear what you are asking here, but it sounds like you are might be wondering how to enter an eighth note? Simply select the eighth note duration on the toolbar before entering the note. So to enter eighth - quarter eighth, select eighth duration, enter the first note, then select quarter duration, enter the second note, then select eighth duration and enter the third note. The second and third notes are thus between the beats.

If that's not what you mean, then perhaps attaching a picture of what you are trying to do, and also attaching your score as you have it so far, would help - then we could tell you more precisely what you need to do next.
