Staff and instruments
I'm having trouble adding or changing staff and instruments from the default settings. For example, if I create a new score and don't change the instrument from piano to something else, or add a base clef, I don't see how to make changes after the initial setup. Thanks.

When you create a new score (File / New), you should be able to choose for yourself which instrument or instruments or pre-defined template you wish to use.
If you have an existing score for piano or any other instrument(s) and you wish to change anything about the set of instruments and staves used, see Edit / Instruments.
