I have a system with one measure that takes up the whole system and moves the other measures to the system below it.

I can think of three possibilities:

  1. The lone measure has so many notes and rests there is no room for another measure in that system.

  2. The next measure has so many notes and rests it will not fit on the same system as the lone measure.

  3. You have a system break in the line measure.

1 and 2 are probably best fixed by reducing the size of everything via format>page settings> stave space.

3 can be fixed by deleting the system beak.

If none of the above do the trick then attach the score so we can see the problem ourselves.
