Use more stretch or disable autoplace
See #280896: Turns: if too close to one another, get a staircase effect . In theory this could be fixed for articulations as per my comment there, and I'd definitely recommend this considering this in the future. But this would mean an unwanted widening of other measures, so I think not worth it right now, given there is a simple enough workaround.
