Musescore follows the guitar fretboard diagram when using the "Realize Chord Symbol" tool on a guitar tablature or linked staff..
My suggestion is that when someone uses the "Realize Chord Symbol" tool it follows the fingering on the guitar fretboard diagram (if the notator uses the guitar fretboard diagrams to notate chords). Currently this tool uses piano voicing to realize the chord rather than guitar voicing which many times leads to fretboard fingering that is difficult, in not impossible, to play IRL. This suggestion should be able to work with any strummed string instrument that uses chords - Uke, Bass, Lute, Mandolin, etc.
If the chord symbol does not use the guitar fretboard diagram then the "realize chord symbol" uses piano voicing.
An added suggestion would be for Musescore to automatically realize the chord on the staff or guitar tablature or linked staff (could have a check box in preferences to let user decide) rather than having to use a tool.

Glad to see that someone else had this idea!
I had posted a same/similar request in MuseScore's General forum area
