Type In Dynamics Don't Playback

Dynamics that are entered via typing in don't play back

(on mac)
1) Cmd-E to type expression text
2) Cmn-Shift-p to type a piano marking
3) Playback, not playing back piano

However, when adding a piano marking as a dynamic it does playback properly.

I understand that according to the program a typed-in dynamic is technically Staff Text, not a Dynamic marking. I can see that when I select it and look at the bottom left of the screen. But it does seem like the program is attempting to give us 2 different ways to achieve the same result, and this playback difference seems like a bug.

I've also noticed that when using "Select Similar" this can be an issue, as a "p" entered as Staff Text, though identical, is not considered the same as a "p" entered as a Dynamic.
