Guitar Xs with mute.
So I want to write a piece of music with Xs over a guitar muted, but I don't want the "mute" option to be visible. Is there a way to hide text?

Select the text and press v. It will usually turn light gray to tell you it won't be printed. If you don't want to see it at all use the menu View->Show hidden to toggle it.
