I'm not sure how to reproduce the issue, but I've got a file that shows the issue well. MuseScore displays the file with the white square obscuring the bar, but then exports the file without showing any sign of the white square.

Image is invisible.
Click on Image and tick "Visible" property from Inspector.
Good catch, I wonder why I didn't notice that when looking at it yesterday.
Well, as an invisible element it really should not show, at least not cover the elements below it
Whoops. Well that was dumb of me. Thanks for the quick response :')
Most elements have a clear visual indication of whether they're invisible which wouldn't work for images, and an invisible image is kind of pointless, so maybe there should be a warning box when someone tries to set an image to invisible?
Untick View > Show invisble
Came up in #331637: visible option in Inspector does not work for inserted images
Invisible images do make sense in some situations, like in a score and it's parts, you may want the image visible on the main core but not in the parts, or vice versa.
And they do work in PDF and other graphic export and in printout, just not on the screen.
Question is how they grey out an image, how to make it transparent?
