Not sure where you've read that, but it is not true.
You can set the sample rate (32/44.1/48kHz) and for mp3 export, you can set the bitrate. Both can be set in
Edit → Preferences → Export

My problem is that whether i export to 44,1 or 48 kHz the wav that i produce is recognized as 16 bit audio from Cubase LE when i try to import it. I don't know if that is the problem, but i am sure the quality of musescore player is much better compared to the Cubase wav (audio) playing the same piece. Do you think that this is configuration parameter of Cubase when importing an audio file to a track?
I believe you read that right. It is in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook/release-notes/rel…
See Edit > Preferences > Advanced > export/audio/PCMRate

Well, look at that hidden gem :-)
I stand corrected.

Implemented by Yours truly (IIRC) ;-)
Not sure though anymore why it didn't make it into the Edit > Preferences > Export dialog, maybe 3.6 is the chance to uncover that gem?

Because String freeze was in effect.

It came in via cc03d0d03f , PR #5793, to solve #302118: Need 24 and 32 bit audio exports, so was in the Alpha already (and before), I don't think string freeze was in effect then already.
