Cursor select

Hi,
When I select my notes for Voice 1, the Voice 2 notes also selects itself.
sometimes I want to put staccato on only the Voice 1 notes, but when I select, the Voice 2 notes applies staccato too.
I want a feature of ability to spread the cursor, creating a blue box to select the notes I need.
Then I could only select the notes I need.
