Check For Updates
I am using MuseScore version 3.3.49134 on Windows 10 and want to see if there's an updated version. The current manual shows 2 ways of doing this. One is to use the "updates tab" on the edit|preferences screen. There isn't such a tab on that screen (shown in the uploaded file). The second one is to select help|update. Update is not on the help drop-down menu. Any help would be appreciated.

The MuseScore version from the Microsoft Store is a) still and 3.3.4 (see #313298: MuseScore in Microsoft Store is outdated, still at 3.3.4; remove link on Download page) and b) doesn't have that update option, Microsoft doesn't allow for that.
So you'd need to go to the MuseScore download page, see below.

Wow! ...No update tab exists in Preferences.
So updates are prescribed through Microsoft Store then?
(I'll wager a Microsoft account is required.)
Also, no 'Telemetry' allowed?

Well then, I guess collecting data on users is anathema to Microsoft... ;-)

I guess Microsoft doesn't like others collecting data.
I'm not sure when exactly the telemetry stuff in MuseScore started, might have been after 3.3.4?
But yes, those are restrictions of their store, their condition to take on stuff
