Zooming in on music should not be amobile exclusive feature.
Sometimes the font size is made a lot smaller than readable on the website and when i click on the magnifying glass icon, it just advertises the mobile app

I guess you're talking about the musescore.com website. This here though is musescore.org.

What is relevant to this website, though, is that you can simply download the score and open it in MuseScore zoom however you like. Also, FWIW, most browsers support zooming themselves, although it's not necessarily ideal in that the music won't also reformat itself.
