document orientation doubled
when I changed from side by side to stacked it doubled the piece I'm working on. If I try to close just one they both close. When I open a new piece it comes onto the workspace doubled.
When I edit the piece both are edited the same. Kind of annoying but not fatal. I would like to get things back to normal. Thanks in advance for the help.

You apparently enabled "documents side by side"

yes. From View I chose side by side. The result was it doubled the score I was working on. Now whenever and whatever file I open it's doubled. I can't close just one either. They both close. I'm using a Mac OS with the latest rev of musescore.

From view choose side by side again and the check mark will disappear and you will only see one copy.

For the record, the whole purpose of documents side by side is to show two scores at once (whether two different scores, or different parts of the same score). So it's normal if you only have one score open, it would show in both windows. You can then position them independently, so you can be viewing for example the first measure in one windows and the last in another, or flute and cello parts simultaneously. Then if you open a second score, you can choose which score appears in which window simply by clicking it.
