Automatic Polyphony?
I have started a score from a midi import and although it only has a single instrument and a single voice I can definitely hear 2 voices playing - sounds like an octave apart. Is this something that has happened because the source is midi?

Strange: Mixer claims the sound to be Grand Piano, but the Instrument and the Sound is that of an Organ.
Anyway: if you 'change' it to Grand Piano you'd find that this polyphony is an illusion

It's from an organ piece by Pachelbel so I'll sort the mixer out. (Changing to piano did remove the polyphony).
And this is pretty normal that the overtones of an organ can make it seem like you are hearing multiple notes at once.

I am only just starting to listen to organ music so that would explain it.
In the notation am I seeing/reading the main notes or the overtones?

You seeing the main notes.

Plus a "full" organ sound might include stops sounding a 5th, 3rd, or a flatted 7th above. This adds brilliance to the sound.

I'll have to listen carefully to it on YouTube.
