Creating rests for tuplets
If I want a 4/4 bar of consecutive semi-quaver triplets, it takes four stages to break the semibreve rest into the necessary eight quaver rests. This gets a bit tedious - is there an option somewhere to do this in just one stage?

That only give triplet quavers, though - I'm wanting triplet semiquavers/16th notes. At the moment I have to:
1. highlight the semibreve rest and press 4 , to give 2 quaver rests, 1 crotchet rest and 1 minim rest;
2. highlight the crotchet rest and press 4 to give 2 more quaver rests;
3. repeat step 1;
4. repeat step 4.
Only then can I select all and press Ctrl+3. I just wondered if I was missing a more streamlined way of creating the appropriate rests.

OK, so you want 8 triplets, not just 4 (these British English terms are confusing)

Eight triplets is correct - sorry I didn't mention how many, just a 'string of consecutive' ones.

Create 1 set of triplets in the first quaver of the bar. Then select them and press R as many times as you like - or hold it down until you have enough triplets.

That's a big improvement - many thanks! :)
