Persistent pop-up display of codes for page number, title, etc when editing header/footer

• Jan 29, 2021 - 16:56

When I finish entering the notes and all for a score, I like to go to Format > Style > Header, Footer to enter a date or last modified date, or part name, or any of the many other things available with special $codes. On my MacBook I sometimes get a nice pop-up window with all the codes listed and organized. But it disappears almost in an instant, and seems to be pretty random about when and how it pops up. Can there be a place in the menu system to generate a copy of that info, or present it persistently? I have tried to grab a screen shot, but any movement with the mouse seems to wipe it away.

Alternatively is there a place on the web with a listing of all these codes?

Not at all helpful: so instead of poking and hoping that I can see the yellow panel of codes for more than 1 second, I will have to get out of MuseScore, open a browser, try to remember or find your link and then load the page, then scroll down to read the chart. When I am working on a score a persistent pop-up would be much more efficient. Your model is expert-friendly. But experts don’t need to look up the codes anyway.

But thanks anyway. I found the link and found the table and took a screen shot that I can tape to my laptop.

Strange, I thought your initial post had an explicit question if there was a place on the web where those codes where listed. Pointing you straight to such a place is then for some reason considered unhelpful?

Yes, I only responded to that part of your post (that perhaps wasn't obvious) and agree that a better way to insert these things would be nice to have.
