Ladspa and other Audio Plugins should be able to be used by the Mixer/Synthesizer part of MuseScore.
I use MuseScore 3.6.1 Portable AppImage inside 64 bit computers with Ubuntu Studio 20.04.2 LTS (Linux flavor).
I don't know if there will be a new 3.x.z before the 4.x.z version, but...
I think the audio part of MuseScore (Mixer and Synthesizer) should be able to use the "standard" Ladspa, Calf and other audio plugins available to Ubuntu.
Up to my limited knowledge, today we just can use "Zita1" stereo reverberation module, and "SC4" stereo monoband audio compressor.
But... The amount of audio plugins list is so huge, in comparison with those 2 items!!! So...
Personally, I don't need it because I work all the audio through JACK Connection Audio Kit, and all the audio processing I get from JACK utilities. But, not all the MuseScore users use the same, so...
I think MuseScore should include this option, allowing the user put its personal "color" to the final MuseScore audio.
Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

There will be a 3.6.2, but that won't help here. And whether 4.0 would is unsure, might be 4.1.
